Islip Fire Department

At 11:02 AM the Islip Fire Department responded to a report of a kitchen fire in a home on Brook Street off Saint Louis Avenue. Upon arrival of Chief of Department Pfuhl it was noted that smoke was visible coming from the attic vent and eves on the exposure 4 side of the home. Islip crews entered the home and found fire in the walls of the kitchen on the second floor with extension into the attic. The alarm was then upgraded to a working structure fire. The fire was quickly knocked down and contained to that immediate area. All the occupants of the home safely evacuated prior to arrival and there were no injuries. Mutual aid assistance was provided by the Bay, East, and the Exchange. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature and thus deemed accidental. ... See MoreSee Less

I find this video awesome and should be shown to the citizens of Islip. If you are not involved with the fire service you have no idea what your volunteers do for you. I am a retired call center Chief dispatcher. My Dad was Chief in North Babylon and my late husband was Chief and Commissioner in Deer Park. THANK YOU for your service.

Great video! Thank you to all the volunteers of Islip FD πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Shortly before 7:30 PM this evening the Islip Fire Department was alerted on a mutual aid to the East for a working residential structure fire on Keswick Drive off Alan St for 1 engine to the scene. East Islip crews were met with an apparent electrical fire which began in the basement and traveled through the walls on the first and second floors and into the attic. Engine 3-4-1, along with chiefs 3-4-31 and 3-4-32 responded and assisted as a truck crew at the scene.
